Yes, you can bring your dog to Mallacoota. Hammond Properties looks after 17 holiday homes in Mallacoota, and 15 of them take dogs, with a limit of two dogs per booking and no size limit. The rules that matter are where dogs can't go, and how far it is to a vet.
This guide covers the houses with fenced yards, the places dogs can't come, where they can sit with you for a meal, and the nearest vets. To see every house that takes dogs, go to our pet-friendly accommodation page.
Dog-friendly houses and fenced yards
15 of our 17 houses take dogs. High Tide Studio and Blue Bird are the two that don't.
Seven houses have a fully fenced yard:
- Pheeney Place
- Vista Views, which has water views
- Blue Waters, which has water views and is about 4.6 km out of town, around seven minutes' drive
- Lacy's Place
- 27 Mirrabooka Rd, which has lake views
- South Gateway Unit
- South Gateway House, which sleeps 13 and has water views
Four on Stingray Point takes dogs too. It has water views but isn't waterfront, and you can launch a kayak from it.
Pet fees and bonds vary by house, so ask when you book.
Where dogs can't go
Dogs aren't allowed in most Victorian national parks, and Parks Victoria doesn't list Croajingolong among its dog-friendly parks. Assistance dogs are welcome, with entry requirements. For the park itself, see our Croajingolong National Park guide.
Dogs also aren't allowed on the Double Creek walk, and they aren't permitted at Genoa Falls.
Eating out with your dog
Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables at the Mallacoota Hotel Motel and at Lucy's.

Booking a house with a dog
January school-holiday weeks fill up in November. Waterfront houses for late December are often booked well before September, but contact Amelia to ask what's left.
Bookings are by phone on 0401 825 547 or through the enquiry form. There's no instant online booking. Tell Amelia how many dogs are coming, and she'll help match you to the house that suits you. Booking direct means lower fees than Airbnb or Stayz. For more on planning a summer stay, see our peak season tips.
