Genoa Peak is currently closed to the public, so check with Parks Victoria before you plan around it.

How far is Genoa Falls from Mallacoota?
Genoa Falls is about 27 km from Mallacoota, around 25 minutes' drive. Drivers coming into town leave the Princes Highway at Genoa and take Mallacoota Road, so you're doing that in reverse: Mallacoota Road out to the highway at Genoa, then about 4 km west.
If you're driving from Melbourne, you come east along the Princes Highway through Gippsland, so the falls are on your way in.
Finding the Genoa Falls turnoff
The turnoff is unmarked, so watch the distance once you're through Genoa. It leads to a small unsealed car park. There are no toilets or picnic tables, so go before you leave and bring anything you'll want to eat or drink.
At the falls
The walk is short, with stairs, and it's about 800 m there and back. The falls are small, spilling over wide rock shelves.
Water dragons are often seen at Genoa Falls in warm weather. The rocks can be slippery. Wear shoes with grip and keep a hand on small kids near the water.
Is Genoa Peak open?
No. Genoa Peak in Croajingolong is currently closed to the public. Before heading there, check parks.vic.gov.au or call Parks Victoria on 13 19 63.
For reference, the Genoa Peak walk starts at the Genoa Peak Day Visitor Area, which has picnic facilities and wood-fired barbecues. The walk is about 2 km return, with a steep climb to a summit lookout.

Before you go
- Dogs: dogs aren't permitted at Genoa Falls. Dogs aren't allowed in most Victorian national parks either, and Parks Victoria doesn't list Croajingolong among its dog-friendly parks. Assistance dogs are welcome, with entry requirements.
- No facilities: no toilets or picnic tables at the falls.
- Take water, a hat and sunscreen, and shoes with grip for the rocks.
