Massage in Mallacoota: Sauna, Hair and Nails

Massage by Jodie is at 52 Maurice Avenue. The massage menu covers five styles:

The infrared sauna at Massage by Jodie is $35 for 20 minutes or $60 for 40. Packages run $80 to $220.

Studio @ 65 is on Maurice Avenue and is owned by Aimee Searl. It does hair and beauty, including cuts, colour, lashes and nails.

Because it opens Monday to Friday, plan a cut or a set of nails for a weekday. If you're here for a wedding, a birthday dinner or a family photo, book it online before you arrive.

Both businesses are on Maurice Avenue. If you want a massage and a hair appointment on the same day, pick a day Studio @ 65 is open (Monday to Friday), then check Massage by Jodie's hours for that day when you book. Here's where to get a coffee or a meal on the day.

• Breakfast or lunch: Cafe 54 is at 54 Maurice Avenue and opens year-round, seven days, for breakfast and lunch. Ring 03 5158 0646.
• A summer coffee: Sundayss is a seasonal café and juice bar on Allan Drive, next to the Bakery and Scallywags. It does specialty coffee, smoothies, juices and acai bowls, and it's closed over the cooler months. Our Mallacoota coffee guide has the rest.
• Dinner at the pub: the Mallacoota Hotel Motel is at 51–55 Maurice Avenue, and its Family Bistro opens seven days for lunch and dinner. Ring 03 5158 0455.
• Dinner on the water: Scallywags Restaurant & Bar is a waterfront seafood restaurant on the inlet at 14 Allan Drive. It serves cocktails, takes bookings online, and a courtesy limo picks up diners in town. Ring 03 4110 2059.

Plan where the dog spends the time while you're at an appointment. 15 of our 17 houses take dogs, and seven have a fully fenced yard, which makes it easier to leave the dog at home while you're at an appointment. If it comes along for lunch afterwards, dogs are welcome at the Hotel's outdoor tables and at Lucy's outdoor tables. Mallacoota goes from a few hundred people to several thousand over Christmas. We don't know how far ahead either business books up, so if a massage or a haircut matters to your trip, book it once your dates are set.

In January, cafés and restaurants are generally open seven days, and it pays to book a table a few days ahead. If your treatment day ends with dinner at Scallywags, book the table online when you book the treatment.
