Mallacoota Cafés: Where to Get Coffee and When

Cafe 54 is at 54 Maurice Avenue, and it's open year-round, seven days, for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast includes pancakes and egg and bacon rolls. Lunch includes burgers, steak sandwiches and lasagne, and it does fish and chips too. Phone 03 5158 0646.

Origami Coffee is a tiny kiosk on a grassy slope on Dorron Avenue, near Scallywags and Sue's Bribes. Takeshi runs it and sells drinks only: single-origin filter brews, espresso and careful latte art. Its Instagram lists it open Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm, so check instagram.com/origamicoffeemallacoota before you walk over.

Sundayss is a seasonal café and juice bar on Allan Drive, next to the Bakery and Scallywags. Amy runs it, and it does specialty coffee, smoothies, juices and acai bowls. It's closed over the cooler months and generally reopens in the early summer period.

The Beanie Coffee Van trades at St Peter's Op Shop, 1 Allan Drive. Larry's Coffee sets up in the mornings about 20 m from Bendigo Bank.

Lucy's, at 64 Maurice Avenue, does a Vietnamese-style iced coffee. It's known for handmade noodles and dumplings, and dogs are welcome at its outdoor tables. Phone 03 5158 0666.
